Opening Keynote: Mission-Anchored Compensation: Stability through Strategic Alignment, Amber Stockham, NBOA. Independent schools are in the ultimate people business, with up to 80% of operating budgets devoted to salaries and benefits for the faculty and staff who deliver your mission every day. For this reason, a compensation system capable of attracting and retaining mission-driven employees is critically important to the health and stability of your school. Each school is unique, and the challenges and opportunities they face based on their size, demographics, and geography will all affect their compensation strategy. Join Amber Stockham, NBOA’s Senior Director, Human Resources Programs, as she shares the results of NBOA’s recent analysis of compensation systems within independent schools and explores the innovative ways schools are aligning their compensation systems with their missions and strategic priorities. Discover essential factors that must be considered when making changes to your school’s compensation and begin to explore the possibilities available to your school based on your unique needs.
Strategic Keynote: Power & Impact: The Head/CFO Relationship, Dallas Joseph, CFO, Baylor School & Scott Wilson, ism, Executive Leadership Department Head and Executive Coach

Innovative and Mission-Driven Benefits Packages
Amber Stockham, Senior Director, NBOA & Jill Aveson, Director of Human Resources, Collegiate School
While the cost drivers of a school’s employee benefits package are primarily health insurance and retirement benefits, these options are usually not the primary drivers of employee recruitment and retention. Faculty and staff are increasingly seeking a robust benefits package that will support their needs at multiple life stages and want to see benefits offerings that align with the values of their school communities. Join us to explore the wide range of benefits options available to schools, the financial and legal implications that must be considered, and the ways employee benefits packages can be structured to support both the school’s mission and its faculty and staff.

We will discuss everything from containment to management of and recovery from a breach, along with the decision trees that need to be navigated by any organization responding to a breach of its environment.
