JohnBull, Associate Professor, Johns Hopkins University, and the workshop, Looking at Student Work to Uncover Student Thinking with Dr. Amy Nail, Education Resource Group.
Session topics include: Why/How/What of Independent School; Cultivating Belonging; Pedagogical Practices; Design of Learning; Communication; Authentic Assessment; Self-care/Boundaries and MORE! Registration for the in-person event also includes 4 virtual MeetUPs throughout the year to foster connections and continue learning.
Keynote: Culturally Relevant Pedagogy + NeuroEducation Practices = Equitable Classroom Environments, Dr. Ranjini Mahinda JohnBull How can we facilitate academic growth using culturally relevant neuroeducation strategies, engage students, provide inclusive spaces, and integrate 21st-century skills? These tasks can feel insurmountable. But you can do it! During this interactive session, you’ll learn how even small modifications to your current practices each day through culturally relevant neuroeducation strategies can help you feel more effective, create a warm and equitable learning environment, and boost students’ cognitive and non-cognitive outcomes.

VAIS has a room block for overnight. If needed, please select the number of nights during registration.
REGISTRATION: Registration includes breaks, lunch, reception, and dinner on Monday and breakfast and lunch on Wednesday. If an overnight is needed, it is an additional $100 per night. If an overnight is needed, please mark the registration form for the number of nights. The registration deadline is Friday, July 21, 2023. No refunds will be issued after that date.
