KEYNOTE SPEAKER:

Dr. Christopher Winter has practiced sleep medicine and neurology in Charlottesville, Virginia since 2004, but has been involved with sleep medicine and sleep research since 1993.  Currently, he is the owner of Charlottesville Neurology and Sleep Medicine clinic and CNSM Consulting. Dr. Winter is not only an active participant in patient care, but a dynamic speaker and researcher on the science of sleep. Dr. Winter’s current research focuses on sleep and athletic performance. In 2006, Major League Baseball awarded him a grant to study the effect of scheduling and time zone travel on team performance. Dr. Winter is an Echols Scholar graduate of the University of Virginia and received his medical degree from Emory University.  The recipient of research awards from the Sleep Medicine Society and the Associated Professional Sleep Societies, Dr. Winter has authored numerous scientific papers and abstracts dealing with sleep and has been a presenter at many international sleep meetings.

VAIS 2022 In-person Event COVID-19 Guidelines

  • All participants are expected to be fully vaccinated per CDC guidelines or to have a negative PCR test administered within 72 hours prior to an event.
  • If you test positive or develop symptoms of COVID-19 prior to an event, please stay home and contact VAIS to discuss refund options.
  • Masks are optional for indoor events. 
  • Masks (including KN-95/KF-94) and hand sanitizer will be provided at the registration desk.
  • Participants’ name tags will identify their individual social interaction comfort level.
  • To-go containers will be provided for those who wish to enjoy meals elsewhere on the property.
